The Britannia Secondary Plan is a part of Milton’s next phase of growth and development, located to the south and east of the Boyne Secondary Plan area. Britannia is envisioned to be developed as a complete community where people can live, work, shop, and recreate. The vision focuses on creating complete, walkable neighbourhoods that provide a range and mix of uses, including a range of housing options and access to amenities and services.
Current status
Statutory public meetings on July 18, 2022, and Nov. 4, 2024, included opportunities to comment on the draft secondary plan. All comments the Town received have been considered. Changes to the draft secondary plan were made, where appropriate.
On Jan. 27, 2025, Council approved the Britannia Secondary Plan and passed a by-law establishing the area with a community structure, detailed land-use permissions, and a policy framework. The Britannia Secondary Plan came into force and effect on March 3, 2025.
