FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton |
The FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton offers volunteer positions including theatre usher, ticket taker, bartender, host, coat check attendant and gallery hanging team member. You must be at least 16 years old to apply. Please apply to the Recreation and Culture Programs list if you would like to volunteer in Arts Programs, such as drawing and painting or performing arts. Mattamy National Cycling Centre |
The following organizations host events/programming at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre and periodically have volunteer positions available:

Milton Seniors’ Activity Centre |
The Milton Seniors’ Activity Centre offers a variety of volunteer opportunities including: program instructor, reception desk, special events, lunch counter, and additional positions appealing to a diverse range of interests. Apply to Volunteer at the Milton Seniors’ Activity Centre |
Recreation and culture programs |
Volunteer in recreation and culture program areas including children and youth, fitness, sports and arts programs. Volunteers support programs throughout the year including PA Days, March Break and Summer Camp. You must be at least 14 or 15 years old to apply for most program placements. Special events |
Special events include the Downtown Milton Street Festival, park and recreation centre openings, anniversaries and more. You must be at least 16 years old to apply. Apply to Volunteer for Special Events |
Swimming |
Volunteer as an assistant swim instructor. You must be at least 14 years old to apply and have a Bronze Cross or Bronze Medallion certification. Apply to Volunteer for Swim Programs |
Youth committees and projects |
Volunteer with youth committees and projects such as the Milton Youth Task Force. |
Volunteer application requirements
All volunteers must:
- Provide two reference letters
- Attend an interview (and provide two references at this stage)
- Participate in a mandatory training session
- Complete all required documentation
- Provide a criminal record check (CRC), if necessary
- Provide a CRC with vulnerable sector check (VSC), (if you are 18 and over and plan to volunteer with children, older adults or persons with a disability).
- Complete other possible required screening
Please note that you must cover the cost for your CRC and/or VSC.
All applications are carefully considered but we may not be able to match you with your preferred placement. If accepted, we will work with you to discuss available options.
Community involvement hours
Many volunteer opportunities count toward high school community involvement hours. Check with your school to learn more.
