Today, the Town of Milton recognized $7.3 million in contributions from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) Corporation during the 2024 fiscal year.
Through the Municipal Contribution Agreement (MCA), annual contributions invest in community improvements and programming that benefit Milton’s residents.
Mayor Gord Krantz joined OLG representatives to highlight the Trudeau Park redevelopment that improved the park’s amenities and visitor experience.
“The Town of Milton is pleased to recognize another contribution from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation,” Mayor Krantz said. “Trudeau Park is one of many examples that show how OLG proceeds continue to bring lasting benefits to our community. We graciously acknowledge their continuing investments in Milton.”
After community input, the neighbourhood park was enhanced last year with a new children’s play area designed to meet accessibility standards. This work also included improved pathways, shelters, benches, and trash receptacles. OLG funds contributed $100,000 toward these improvements.
The Town of Milton also directs a portion of OLG funds to support the local non-profit sector through the Milton Community Fund and Small Grants Program. These grants support groups and agencies that deliver local sports, art programs, festivals and other community initiatives.
“OLG is proud to be a vital part of the Town of Milton,” said Kathleen Devine, Senior Municipal Relations Manager, OLG.
“Every year, 100 per cent of OLG profits are reinvested in Ontario to support provincial priorities. From critical infrastructure to important local programs, to community festivals, and community grant programs, OLG’s profits are hard at work in the Town of Milton and across our province to build stronger communities. We also appreciate the contribution of gaming employees at Elements Casino Mohawk, whose work helps to generate community investments. When you play at an Ontario casino, you play for Ontario.”
Since opening its Mohawk facility in August 1999, OLG has provided almost $150 million to the Town of Milton.
