News release
On July 17, 2023, Town Council endorsed the key elements of a new strategic plan to guide Council’s decision making over the next four years.
To achieve this, the 2023-2027 strategic themes include:
- Invest in People
- Innovate in Technology & Process
- Quality Facilities & Amenities
- Connected Transit & Mobility
- Planned Community Growth
Over the next four years, aligning work to these five themes will lay a foundation for realizing Milton’s strategic vision for 2051, which states:
In 2051, Milton will be a safe, diverse and welcoming community that respects its natural beauty and heritage, supports a range of neighbourhoods, sustains a strong and balanced economy, and offers outstanding opportunities to live, learn, work and play.
Council created the strategic plan after considering feedback from residents, businesses and interested community members on master plans and the Citizen Engagement Survey.
Next steps will involve a period of organizational planning to determine current and future Town projects that align with these themes, in preparation for the Budget process.
Communication about the new plan will continue this fall, to ensure that residents, businesses and others interested parties understand how it will guide Council and staff work in 2023-2027.
