In accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, this is to advise that a statutory public meeting has been scheduled by the Town of Milton’s Development Services Department for a local official plan amendment and a zoning by-law amendment for lands located at 8010-8150 Derry Road West.

A decision about the application will not be made by Milton Council at this meeting.
Application details
- The original approved applications (Town Files: LOPA-06/17 & Z-12/17) included stacked townhouse dwellings, it was removed at the site plan approval stage as a result of parking constraints and stormwater management concerns. The units were reallocated to the apartment buildings.
- The new owner, proceeded with the phased site plan approval. To meet consumer demand, design changes were made and as a result, are reintroducing the new stacked townhouse block of 27 units, the overall density has increased.
- A zoning by-law amendment is required to reduce the required parking for the apartment buildings and stacked townhouse dwellings while increasing the maximum combined gross floor area for accessory buildings to permit the development of six bicycle storage shelters.
- A local official plan amendment is required to amend the Site-Specific Policy 36 to increase the maximum density on the site to 295 units per net hectare.

You will be given step-by-step instructions on how to enter and participate in the meeting. Those who register during the course of a live meeting will not have the ability to provide on-screen presentations due to the absence of pre-screening. All written submissions received will be forwarded to Council following the meeting.

Legal notices required under the Planning Act
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Milton before the By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of Milton Council to the Ontario Land Tribunal.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Town of Milton before the By-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal, unless in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
Personal information is collected under the authority of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13 and may be contained in an appendix to a staff report, published in the meeting agenda, delegation list and/or the minutes of the public meeting and made part of the public record. The Town of Milton collects this information in order to make informed decisions on the relevant issues and to notify interested parties of Council’s decisions. It may also be used to serve notice of an Environmental and Land Tribunals Ontario hearing. Names and addresses contained in submitted correspondence and other information will be available to the public, unless the individual expressly requests the Town to remove their personal information. The disclosure of this information is governed by the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.M. 56.
