Public service announcement

The Town of Milton is inviting residents and stakeholders to share feedback on ‘Living in Milton’ policy topics that impact the everyday life of residents and address important community issues, from May 25 to June 8.

This community engagement opportunity is a part of We Make Milton, the new Official Plan project that will manage growth and development in the community to the year 2051.

At this phase in the project, the Town is exploring policy options for ‘Living in Milton’. This theme includes eight topics that we’re looking for feedback on – affordability and housing choice, climate change and resiliency, history and cultural heritage, parks and recreation, places of worship, rural living, urban design, and youth.

The community is encouraged to learn about, and share feedback on, these topics on Let’s Talk Milton:

  • Take the survey
  • Watch the videos throughout the survey
  • Sign up for virtual feedback sessions at the end of the survey

Community engagement closes on June 8 and a report with policy recommendations will be going to Milton Council for approval on June 20, 2022. Engagement opportunities for the remaining We Make Milton policy themes (Growing in Milton, Moving in Milton, and Working in Milton) will take place later this year.

In 2021, Milton Council endorsed a modern, forward-looking land-use vision for the new Official Plan that reflects our diverse, young and innovative community. All policy considerations for this project were developed to reflect, and align with, the vision: ‘Milton 2051: Choice Shapes Us. In 2051, Milton offers a diversity of options for how and where we live, work, move and grow. As we evolve, choice is what shapes us.’
