Milton Community Park Master Plan

Park Phase 4

The Phase 4 design of Community Park is a response to recommendations outlined in the Community Services Master Plan. Outdoor active recreational facilities that complement the activities of the Milton Sports Centre and existing park facilities are being implemented along with community-based space and passive recreational features that will enhance the natural heritage and historic aspects of the park site.

Design Concept Plan

Based on the feedback received during the public input sessions and the design workshop (spring 2015), and requirements outlined in the Community Services Master Plan, the project team has developed a Design Concept Plan to guide detailed design.

The Community Park Phase 4 design objectives are:

  • Enhance the existing community indoor and outdoor spaces with additional outdoor active and passive recreational opportunities
  • Develop a significant outdoor civic gathering space for programmed and passive community use
  • Enhance trail connections
  • Incorporate the natural and cultural heritage elements of the site

Community Park Phase 4 Design Concept

Phase 4B

This final phase of Milton Community Park will be open in 2018.  The vision for this Phase is to be a significant multi-purpose outdoor civic gathering space for community use, including permitted special events and public gatherings. Other features within the park include picnic areas, a natural amphitheatre, seating areas and pathways along with various landscape amenities, including formal plantings, naturalized and nature interpretation areas.  This collection of park features and amenities means that the park will be a popular destination for families, youth and adults participating in outdoor recreational activities
