In accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, this is to advise that a virtual statutory public meeting has been scheduled by the Town of Milton’s Development Services Department for Draft Plan of Subdivision, Local Official Plan Amendment and a Zoning By-law Amendment for lands located at 8350 Esquesing Line.

Application details

  • The subject lands are approximately 106.13 hectares in size and are located to the north of James Snow Parkway between Esquesing Line and Boston Church Road.
  • The applicant has submitted applications for an Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment and Draft Plan of Subdivision. The purpose of the Official Plan Amendment is to bring a portion of the subject lands (14.25 hectares) into the Town’s Urban Area and Milton 401 Industrial/Business Park Secondary Plan Area, redesignate same portion of the subject lands as Industrial Area and establish a site-specific policy area with additional use permissions for the subject lands.
  • The purpose of the Zoning By-law Amendment is to rezone the subject lands to a site-specific zone with additional use permissions.
  • The proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision includes two industrial blocks, a stormwater management pond block, a business commercial block, a natural heritage system channel block, two woodlot blocks, a wetland block and three road widening blocks.

Town staff will contact you with further instructions. You will be given step-by-step instructions on how to enter and participate in the meeting. Those who register during the course of a live meeting will not have the ability to provide on-screen presentations due to the absence of prescreening. All written submissions received will be forwarded to Council following the meeting.

Legal notices required under the Planning Act

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Milton before the By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of Milton Council to the Ontario Land Tribunal.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Town of Milton before the By-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal, unless in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

Personal information is collected under the authority of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13 and may be contained in an appendix to a staff report, published in the meeting agenda, delegation list and/or the minutes of the public meeting and made part of the public record. The Town of Milton collects this information in order to make informed decisions on the relevant issues and to notify interested parties of Council’s decisions. It may also be used to serve notice of an Environmental and Land Tribunals Ontario hearing. Names and addresses contained in submitted correspondence and other information will be available to the public, unless the individual expressly requests the Town to remove their personal information. The disclosure of this information is governed by the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.M. 56.
