In accordance with the provisions of the Planning Act, this is to advise that a virtual statutory public meeting has been scheduled by the Town of Milton’s Development Services Department for a Draft Plan of Subdivision and Zoning By-Law Amendment for lands located at 1334 Fourth Line and legally described as Part of Lots 7 and 8, Concession 4, NS (Trafalgar) in the Town of Milton.

A decision about the application will not be made by Milton Council at this meeting.

Application details

  • The subject lands are approximately 51.93 hectares in size and are primarily located on the west side of Fourth Line, south of Louis St. Laurent Avenue, and north of Britannia Road and east of Thompson Road South.

  • The applicant has submitted a draft plan of subdivision to create 696 residential dwelling lots (i.e. 563 detached dwelling units, and 133 townhouse dwelling units).

  • In addition, a minor sub-node block (to include a mix of medium and high density residential units - total to be determined), three future medium density residential blocks (units to be determined), and blocks for a watercourse channel with a trail system, the existing woodlot, two stormwater management ponds and open spaces are proposed to be created.

  • A zoning by-law amendment is required to implement new Zones as well as site-specific standards to permit the proposed development.

Town staff will contact you with further instructions. You will be given step-by-step instructions on how to enter and participate in the meeting. Those who register during the course of a live meeting will not have the ability to provide on-screen presentations due to the absence of prescreening. All written submissions received will be forwarded to Council following the meeting.

Legal notices required under the Planning Act

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Milton before the By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of Milton Council to the Ontario Land Tribunal.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, or make written submissions to the Town of Milton before the By-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal, unless in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.

Personal information is collected under the authority of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P. 13 and may be contained in an appendix to a staff report, published in the meeting agenda, delegation list and/or the minutes of the public meeting and made part of the public record. The Town of Milton collects this information in order to make informed decisions on the relevant issues and to notify interested parties of Council’s decisions. It may also be used to serve notice of an Environmental and Land Tribunals Ontario hearing. Names and addresses contained in submitted correspondence and other information will be available to the public, unless the individual expressly requests the Town to remove their personal information. The disclosure of this information is governed by the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.M. 56.
