The Town has begun an Intensification/Infill Study for the downtown area. The study will determine the most appropriate form for the growth that is required by the Ontario Government, and will include an examination of the urban design, traffic, retail/commercial, environmental and phasing implications of the growth as well as looking at how growth can be integrated into the Town's existing
downtown area. Growth will be centered on the Milton GO station.
The Town and Wilfrid Laurier University have signed a memorandum of understanding with the intent of working together to develop plans and seek funding for a university campus in Milton. The Milton Education Village is the vision of a carefully planned 450-acre community that will house the 150-acre university campus, research centre, student housing and support services.
The Official Plan is a general land use guide which is intended to provide Council with a basis for making decisions on development applications, changes in land use and community improvements.
Destiny Milton 2 is an official document containing the guiding principles and vision for Milton over the next 10 years, setting priorities for Milton's quality of life and service delivery.
