Commercial Refreshment Vehicles

Owners or owner/operators must apply for a license to operate a Commercial Refreshment Vehicle in Milton.

Owners must apply for one of the five classifications of Commercial Refreshment Vehicles:

Class A: A Refreshment Vehicle from which the food or refreshments sold is prepared in a commissary or a place other than the Refreshment Vehicle (includes catering trucks).

Class B: A Refreshment Vehicle that is exclusively a vendor of factory pre-packaged frozen products (includes ice cream trucks).

Class C: A Refreshment Vehicle that is non-motorized and does not require a health certificate from the Medical Officer of Health because it is exclusively a vendor of factory pre-packaged frozen products (includes ice cream bikes, yoghurt and juice carts).

Class D: A Refreshment Vehicle from which any of the food or refreshments sold are prepared or apportioned at the Refreshment Vehicle (hot dog carts, chip trucks).

Class E: A Refreshment Vehicle that is used for charitable or non-profit functions only.
