The Derry Green Corporate Business Park (Business Park II) Secondary Plan Area is within the Milton Urban Expansion area, which is east of the Bristol Survey. The Park will accommodate most of our employment growth to 2021. This will be the second of our two planned employment areas, which are part of the Halton Urban Structure Plan.

The area is around 800 hectares (2,000 acres) in size and within:

  • Highway 401 and the middle branch of Sixteen Mile Creek to the north
  • Sixth Line to the east
  • Centre tributary of the middle branch of Sixteen Mile Creek to the south
  • James Snow Pky. (Regional Rd. 4) to the west

Official Plan Amendment No. 29

Milton Council passed By-law No. 067-2010 that adopted the Derry Green Corporate Business Park Secondary Plan (Official Plan Amendment No. 29), which Halton Region approved on March 7, 2014.

Secondary Plan and Official Plan Amendment No. 41

Council adopted the Derry Green Corporate Business Park Secondary Plan on June 14, 2010, which was sent to Halton Region for approval. Changes to the Plan were endorsed by Council on June 18, 2013, and forwarded to the Region to issue a final Notice of Decision to approve the Plan with changes. The Region issued the Notice of Decision on March 7, 2014, approving the Plan.

Ontario Municipal Board

After being approved by the Region, the Plan was appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB). We worked with legal counsel and resolved outstanding appeals with the OMB and issued an order on April 2, 2015.

Final consolidation

To apply the Secondary Plan, a consolidated version of the Plan needed to be created that included the changes and approved policies. Minor typographical errors and omissions were corrected as well as updates to the trail network. Council passed By-law No. 088-2015 on November 9, 2015, which adopted Official Plan Amendment No. 41. As we did not receive any appeals, the by-law is now in effect.
