Drop-in Swimming & Aquafit Schedule - Fall & Winter (Sep 6, 2016 - Jun 30, 2017)

PLEASE NOTE: Milton Leisure Centre Pool will be closed for maintenance from Tue, Jun 20 - Sat, Jul 1. Residents are encouraged to use the Milton Sports Centre pool and the Rotary Outdoor Park Pool, which will be open daily beginning Sat, Jun 24 until Mon, Sep. 4 (Labour Day).

Admission and Supervision Requirements

To ensure the safety of everyone who swims in Town of Milton pools, we follow standard supervision requirements for children.

Age Requirement for Supervision of Children
All those who are supervising children must be 14 years or older.

Supervision Standards 

Age Facility Swim Test Supervision Maximum Supervision Ratio Wristband
0 - 5 years Successful test: Can swim in deep end Parent/guardian must be in the water and within arms' reach at all times. 2 children per parent/guardian Red
6 - 9 years Unable to pass test Parent/guardian must be in the water and within arms' reach at all times. 2 children per parent/guardian
5 children (6 - 9 years only) if all children wear lifejackets
Yellow
6 - 9 years Successful test: Can swim in the deep end Direct supervision is not required but parent/guardian is encouraged to remain in sight of children during swim. Yellow
10+ years Successful test: Can swim in the deep end Direct supervision is not required. Blue (10 - 13 years)

Groups and Day Camps

In addition to the above supervision standards, groups and day camps attending swims must also maintain a minimum supervision ratio of 8 children per guardian/group leader, regardless of the children's age and swimming abilities.

Facility Swim Test

To successfully complete the facility swim test, individuals must demonstrate the ability to swim continuously for a minimum distance of 25 metres, including putting face in water and demonstrating the ability to breathe during the swim.

Swimmers with Medical Conditions

Those with seizure disorders or other serious medical conditions should be accompanied by an individual knowledgeable of their condition and responsible for their direct supervision.

Pools

Swim indoors at the Milton Leisure Centre and at the Milton Sports Centre, and outdoors in the summer at Rotary Park Outdoor Pool.

Visit a designated cooling centre for relief from the heat:

  • Milton Leisure Centre (1100 Main St. East)
  • Milton Sports Centre (605 Santa Maria Blvd.)
