Earth Hour

On Saturday, March 19, 2016, Milton Hydro encouraged Milton residents and businesses to power down during Earth Hour from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Earth Hour is an annual one-hour lights-out event created by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) that mobilizes millions worldwide to show support for action on climate change.

We asked Miltonians to join the movement:

  • Turn off the lights
  • Turn down the thermostat
  • Unplug the TV, blue ray player, microwave, clock and radio

The Town of Milton was proud to participate in Earth Hour with these changes to Town facilities from 8:30 - 9:30 pm:

  • Lights out: Town Hall, Hugh Foster Hall, Hugh Foster Hall, 555 Annex, Nassagaweya Tennis Centre & Community Hall  and Nassagaweya Community Centre
  • Minimal lighting: Milton Centre for the Arts, Leisure Centre and Sports Centre

Make Earth Hour Every Hour!

After Earth Hour is over, keep practising energy conservation. For ways to conserve energy in your business or home during Earth Hour and all year long, visit the Milton Hydro website.
